A Local Area Network (LAN) can be partitioned into multiple Local Microsegments logically. By default only the hosts in a same Local Microsegment can communicate with each other. For inter segment communication, an appropriate policy rules should be added.
Following screenshot shows an example configuration on Roqos SASE UI.
The above screenshot shows the Add LMS page after clicking the Add button in Menu > Network > "RC name" > Basic Settings > LAN Settings. This page allows you to add and configure a new LMS.
Here are steps on creating a LMS on Roqos Core appliances:
1. Select LMS.
2. Name: Enter a descriptive LMS name. (e.g. LMS1)
3. Network address: Enter a LMS network address. (e.g. 10.253.253.0)
4. Mask: Select a size of segment. (e.g. CIDR /29)
5. Segment Size: Select a size of segment (e.g. 1 Device).
6. Segment Count: Show the count of segmentation (e.g. 2).
7. Click Save to apply the settings.
The below screenshot shows the LAN Settings page after adding a LMS.
Important Considerations:
- Planning: Before creating a LMS, plan your network to ensure the LMS you choose don't conflict with any existing settings.
